When you're looking for internships with housing, we cater for all your internship housing needs as part of our summer student accommodation.
Internship housing that accommodates training and preparation
Intern Accommodation at Ireland’s Premier University
University College Dublin (UCD) is Ireland’s largest university, and the perfect environment for summer placement of interns via our high-quality internship housing. We offer individual bedroom accommodation in our beautifully appointed 4-bedrom and 6-bedroom apartments, boasting all the modern conveniences.
During the summer months, from the end of May through August, UCD plays host to a large number of interns and Study Abroad students from the U.S. and Europe, so it’s very easy to socialise and settle in with like-minded people.
Our campus is safe and secure, with 24-hour Reception and 24-hour Security, and interns also enjoy our high-quality sports and leisure facilities, our closeness to Dublin city, our green and spacious campus in a prime residential area, and our premium quality residential accommodation.
Exceptional internship housing is yours for the asking
Residential apartments at UCD are positioned discreetly throughout the college campus and at nearby Blackrock. All apartments are self-catering and offer weekly cleaning and change of bed linen. Interns will enjoy their own private bedroom, but share the living room and kitchen with other interns. There’s also a convenient onsite launderette.
And because it’s a college campus, interns enjoy the opportunity to mingle with other interns and students from Ireland and overseas in a supportive and educational environment. There’s also very fast wireless available – at no cost to interns – plus a free social and cultural programme including free movies in our own college cinema. It’s all part of our internship housing offering. Interns and other guests have the option of being self-sufficient, although it is comforting to know that there are extensive catering facilities on campus and close-by.
The residences at UCD are carefully integrated into their surrounding parkland setting. Maintained to a high standard, they are an ideal home from home for summer interns.
With excellent on-campus security, the accommodation is available at very competitive rates. And in case of emergency, it's comforting to know that a Student Medical Centre is available, along with St. Vincent's Hospital which is very close to the college.
Catering to your internship housing needs
While our residences are generally self-catering, our summer visitors will often choose to enjoy the excellent catering facilities on campus. There’s also a great Centra convenience store on-site – along with a bank and post office.
Throughout the day, our main restaurant provides a wide range of nutritious meals and snacks, while you will also find a number of cafes and restaurants dotted throughout the campus for added convenience.
There’s also easy transport access to the city centre or further afield - UCD has the largest bus terminus in Ireland outside of Busaras - and the Aircoach now comes directly onto the UCD campus.
And for interns living away from home, safe social interaction with others in a similar situation is provided in the spacious main restaurant or in the ever-popular Clubhouse Bar.
The superb UCD James Joyce Library offers a magnificent research resource for our visiting interns, who may wish to keep up with their studies while interning in Dublin
A wealth of sports and leisure facilities to complement our internship housing
For interns of a sporting disposition, UCD has a wealth of sports and leisure facilities. And with over 130 hectares (325 acres) to explore, our campus is an absolute haven for walkers or joggers.
There are also numerous grass and synthetic sports pitches on the campus, along with tennis courts and Ireland’s national hockey stadium, which has hosted a number of prestigious European and international competitions.
There’s also access to our 50-metre swimming pool, and a modern, well equipped gymnasium offering everything from weight training and racket sports to basketball and wall-climbing. Both of these are available to interns FREE OF CHARGE.
Internship housing in the heart of Dublin
The main UCD campus at Belfield is just 4 km (2.5 miles) from the centre of Dublin, and frequent buses on a dedicated Bus Corridor can whisk interns into their workplace in the heart of Dublin in less than fifteen minutes. If working outside the city centre, they can easily commute directly from UCD to venues such as Sandyford, Bray etc.
There are bus stops on the actual college grounds, and the Aircoach to and from Dublin Airport also stops on our campus.
