Improving information for mature applicants – mature student input wanted
UCD is the convenor of the Dublin Region Higher Education Alliance (DRHEA) Widening Participation Strand. A key project being undertaken is Progression Pathways which seeks to increase access for mature students by improving the information available. Apply now for a grant from UCD Student Capital Fund
Students may now apply for a grant from the UCD Student Capital Fund. The fund, administered by the Student Consultative Forum, is open to any student group. Grants are available only for capital projects which will enhance the student experience (i.e. not for funding current activities). Recent successful applications have included: furniture for the student area in the Agriculture building, equipment for sports clubs, computers for student media and disability access facilities. UCD Library Survey – last chance to make your views known & enter the prize draw!
We have had a great response to the UCD Library Survey, but would still welcome more. The survey asks you about Library resources, print and online environments and services and staff. The survey is taking most people less than 7 minutes and is available to Sunday, 6 April. Students can now select eBooks and print books for Library purchase
UCD Library has loaded thousands of new eBook and print book records into our catalogue as part of an initiative to enable library users to select books themselves for the Library's collections. E-Books that are used regularly and print books that you ask us to buy via a special link on the catalogue record will be automatically flagged for purchase. For further information click here. |

New GIS Guide available
A new Library guide on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is now available. It includes instructions on creating maps, using software, a listing of datasets available by theme, examples of case studies, GIS courses in UCD, links to books and more. |

UCD Choral Scholars annual Spring Concert - Suaimhneas
UCD Choral Scholars will present their annual Spring Concert - Suaimhneas in Christ Church Cathedral, at 8pm on Thursday, 24 April 2014. This programme will include repertoire performed on their US tour in March and some works presented at the Temple Bar Traditional Music Festival in January. The Scholars will be joined by renowned early-music specialists Therese Timoney (violin), Sarah Moffat (violin), Malachy Robinson (bass viol), and the Berlin-based singer, Andrew Redmond (bass). A limited number of student tickets (costing €5 each) are available from ucdchoralstudent@gmail.com (full price €15). |

Rás UCD in aid of UCDVO
Rás UCD will take place on campus this Saturday, 5 April at 11am. The 5K race will take place all across campus with over 500 runners due to take part. Registration is still open and can be access here. Please note that the internal campus roads between UCD Sutherland Law School and the Clonskeagh gate will be affected by rolling road closures during the race. |
