UCD's outstanding assortment of sports and performing art facilities have played a pivotal role in captivating students, staff, and the wider community, establishing our esteemed University as a coveted destination. The accomplishments of our students in these fields have ignited enthusiasm and spurred a significant increase in membership within our vibrant student sports clubs and societies. Consequently, there has been a surge in demand for greater on-campus facilities to accommodate this growing engagement.
Recognising the pressing need to address ageing infrastructure and provide state-of-the-art amenities, a referendum was held in April 2019, with students overwhelmingly voting to extend the Student Centre Levy. This mandate empowers the University to embark on a transformative journey, dedicating resources and effort towards the creation of these essential student-centric facilities in the coming years.
Our commitment to this endeavour is driven by the vision of cultivating a stable and sustainable environment that empowers our diverse student body to actively participate and engage with the University for countless years ahead. By revitalising our infrastructure and delivering cutting-edge facilities, we are ensuring that UCD remains at the forefront of fostering student excellence and providing a conducive environment for personal and academic growth.
