Types of Exam Venues on Your Timetable:

Your exam timetable will show the following five types of venues:

1. RDS Simmonscourt or Shelbourne Hall– (In-person) Your exam will be held at the RDS. In May, exams take place in RDS Simmonscourt, and in December, in RDS Shelbourne Hall. Your personalised timetable, when available, will show the start time and duration.

2. Blackrock Exam Centre– (In-person) Your exam will be held at the Blackrock Exam Centre, Blackrock Campus. Your personalised timetable, when available, will show the start time and duration.

3. Online – (Online) While a time slot is allocated on your timetable, specific details such as start time, exam duration, and any extra time for downloading, uploading, or submitting will be provided by your Module Coordinator.

4. Classroom – (This could be in-person or online) The exact details, including the location, start time, and duration, will be shared by your Module Coordinator.

5. Newman Exams Office A105 - AEADS Exams (Disability Support) – (In-person) If you are registered with the Access and Lifelong Learning Centre as requiring disability or temporary support services, your exam will take place in the Newman Examination Centre, located in the Newman building and the Arts Annexe Building on the Belfield campus (May and December only).  Your current timetable may indicate the RDS as a venue, but note this will change closer to the exam date. Exams outside of the May and December session will take place at the Blackrock Exam Centre.

   Important to Know:

   • It is your responsibility to know the date, time, and location of your exams, and you must ensure your attendance.
   • UCD will do its best to minimise noise during exams, but as exam centres are in busy areas, it may not always be possible to avoid outside noise.
   • If an exam has to be postponed due to exceptional circumstances, it will be rescheduled. You will receive a notification via your UCD Connect email.
