Repeat and Resit Modules
- If you are a student in a Graduate Taught Programme and failed a module in the Spring Trimester 2023/24, you may resit or repeat the module the next time either remediation option is available.
- If you are an Undergraduate student and failed a module in the Spring Trimester 2023/24, you may resit or repeat the module in the Autumn Trimester 2024/25. Some modules offer a Summer Resit option.
- If your module is being taught in the Autumn Trimester 2024/25 then you can repeat it (normally attending all lectures, tutorials etc. and doing all assessments)
- If your module is not being taught in the Autumn Trimester 2024/25, then you may be offered a resit opportunity e.g. an in-trimester assessment
- Not all modules offer a resit. Where resits are not offered, your Programme will require you to repeat the module instead or take another module that meets the programme outcomes.
- To see if the module offers a repeat or a resit use the Course Archive to find it and look at the 'What happens if I fail?' section of the module description.
- Repeat modules currently cost €230 each.
- There is no charge for Resit modules.
- Undergraduates and Graduate Taught students can register to any repeat/resit modules in online registration. Log into SISWeb (via the Log in with UCD Connect button), click on My Registration, and under Module Registration click on Repeats.
- Make sure that you register to whatever repeat/resit modules you need. Inaccurate registration has assessment and other implications. You will be charged for any repeat attempt to which you register.
- For more information on assessment in UCD visit the website.
Withdrawn Modules
- You can normally re-register for any modules with a WN (or WX) grade online. Log into SISWeb, click on My Registration, and under Module Registration click on Repeats.
- The modules are included in the credits for free fees. However, when you take the same module again, there is no charge for that second attempt i.e. the module will only be counted once, or you will only have to pay for it once, depending on the circumstances.
