What to expect at your Health Screening

Welcome to the Health Screen & Hepatitis B Vaccine Process for Health Care Students

It is essential that you provide the correct ID confirmation (passport or drivers licence) at your first appointment to proceed with screening. 

You will be asked to consent to screening and data sharing.  Please read (opens in a new window)this information on Data Sharing prior to attending.

No ID-No Screen.

Your screening programme consists of approximately 4 appts over 11-14/12-15 months

  • 1st appt: At your Initial Health Screen visit - blood tests will be obtained to check for blood borne viruses.  Information will be provided regarding Hep B vaccine and we will request consent regarding GDPR.  You will receive dose 1 of the Hep B vaccine and you will be advised to book your next appointment (2nd Hep B and IGRA if required)..
  • 2nd appt: 1 month later, Dose 2 of Hep B vaccine and get IGRA test
  • 3rd appt: 5 months later, Dose 3 of Hep B vaccine
  • 4th appt: 2 to 4 months later, A blood test to check immune response of Hep B vaccine.
  • Other appointments: Students may be required to get other Vaccine or test at an additional cost.
