Test for Tuberculosis (TB) status

Tuberculosis (TB) testing for incoming Health Science students is required to exclude the possibility of Latent TB as part of the Occupational Health Screening at UCD. TB testing carried out within the last two years, prior to entry into UCD is accepted.

Your TB test must have been done within the last 2 years.

The date of the test must be legible on the test result.

We accept evidence of either  IGRA TB blood test OR Mantoux/Tuberculin Skin Test (TST).

Mantoux test results must be recorded in millimeters (example: 2mm) rather than Positive or Negative.

Handwritten, incorrectly recorded  and illegible results will not be accepted and students will require an IGRA test.

The charge for IGRA TB testing is €125

Students should be provided with documentation of the result on your clinic’s headed paper.

Quantiferon Gold and T-Spot TB blood test results should be in the form of a laboratory report.
