Student Societies

There is (opens in a new window)a huge range of UCD student societies to get involved with. Those with particular relevance to sustainability include the following.

Since its foundation in 2023 the (opens in a new window)UCD Sustainability Society (Sus Soc) has already grown to 450+ members from all across the university. Sus Soc hosts many events including clothes swaps, pub quizzes, academic guest speakers, a sustainability winter and spring formals.

The UCD Horticulture Society was founded in 2014 with the aim of educating and engaging students in general horticultural activities and knowledge.

The (opens in a new window)UCD Fair Fashion collective promotes ethical practices in the fashion industry and exposes exploitative labour practices and unsustainable production process that harm both people and the environment.

The (opens in a new window)UCD One Health Society hosts talks on a range of related topics throughout the year, including antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic diseases, pandemics and other links between human and animal medicine.
