SDG Dashboard launched alongside UCD Sustainability Website

Wednesday, 16 October, 2024

Ever wondered where your nearest drinking fountain or recycling bins are located in UCD? Or where you can microwave your lunch? Would you like to know the BER ratings of the buildings you frequent? Or do you want to get your hands on information about UCD's sustainability research and reports?

The newly launched interactive SDG Dashboard allows users to explore sustainable initiatives and features across campus. In this video, project lead Ainhoa Gonzalez del Campo, associate professor at the UCD School of Geography, says the dashboard includes web maps with data layers for specific SDGs, such as the location of indoor segregation bins under SDG 12 and building energy ratings under SDG 7.

The HEA-funded, SATLE project is a collaboration between seven staff and seven students, with input from various campus stakeholders. Other universities, notably the Copenhagen Business School, have expressed interest in replicating the dashboard.

Designed for continuous improvement, the SDG Dashboard has a feedback mechanism integrated for user suggestions and comments.
