How the product handles dates: MSN Web Communities – Chat displays dates in the following areas: ·        Downloading the control from the web page ·        Local Time for a person in a Chat room ·        Lag Time for a person in a Chat room ·        Times and Dates are only displayed in the History window of the control. ·        Chat does not ask users to input time or dates and does not stores this information; rather dates are generated by the system ·        Time and dates are displayed in the format set by the Client    Two-digit shortcut handling:  When getting Local Time for another person in a chat room, the time, date, and format on the inquired person’s machine will be displayed.    Validation guidelines and recommendations: Procedure: Set your system clock to any time or date your system supports In a supported browser, go to http://beta.communities.msn.com From the category browse on the main page, enter a “Public” community Join this community Go to Chat. Verify that you can download the Chat control Verify that the cookie is not expired Verify that you can join a room and chat Verify that you can get local time and date from another person Verify that you can get lag time in seconds between you and another person
