We are delighted to invite you to the UCD Teaching and Learning Symposium, which will take place in the PwC Theatre, UCD Quinn School of Business, on Wednesday 7 May 2025.
This year’s Symposium, on the theme of “Innovative Futures: Engaging Learners” will feature renowned international keynote speaker Professor Punya Mishra of Arizona State University and showcase a variety of UCD projects embracing the theme of innovation and engagement with learning.
All colleagues involved in teaching and learning are welcome to attend, and the event will also be open to attendees from outside UCD.
“Innovative Futures: Engaging Learners” is an occasion for us to imagine the future of learning at UCD. It will capture both the opportunities and challenges the University faces as we adapt to the changing needs of society and innovate our educational response to prepare students for their futures in a digital world.
How can we…?
- Design learning that engages and empowers students
- Support students to engage thoughtfully, ethically and critically with generative AI to support their learning and skills development
- Build on the success of UCD’s distinctive educational experience
- Enable and sustain innovation in teaching, learning and assessment practice
The Symposium will also feature projects led by UCD colleagues addressing the themes of Academic Integrity and Ethical Practice, Online Learning and Assessment, and Education for Sustainable Development. These projects are funded by the HEA from Strategic Alignment of Teaching and Learning Enhancement (SATLE) funding administered by the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning. The outcome of these SATLE-funded projects offers valuable insight into current and future practice in areas of Academic Integrity, Students as Champions, Multimodal Engagement, Collaborative Learning, Sustainability, Online Assessment, Integrating AI, Digital Literacy and more.
