It is possible to send an email to your entire class or a subset of your class by using the email functionality within Brightspace. This tool is accessible via the module navbar My Classlist/Classlist and by selecting Email Classlist (as shown below).
It is recommended that you use email in Brightspace if you want to share information that is relevant to a select number of individual students. It is preferable that you use announcements when communicating with the entire cohort. Within Brightspace you also have the ability to email your students directly from the following tools; Assignments, Grades, Groups, Intelligent Agents.
Practical Tip
As the instructor you can receive a copy of email messages that you send within Brightspace. To do this, ensure via your account settings, that you have selected the tick boxes for your preferred option (as shown below);
- send a copy of each outgoing message to ….(your email address)
- send a copy of each outgoing message to Sent Mail Folder
