How to setup Assignments in Brightspace

General Information

This workshop will guide participants through the set-up of Assignments in Brightspace. Participants will first consider, in the light of the new Academic Regulations, the relationship between the assessment and the expected learning outcomes of students in their modules and we will then look together at the set up of an Assignment from scratch.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, participants:

• will know how to select a grade scheme for their module
• will be able to set up grade items and grade categories in Brightspace
• will be able to set up an assignment in Brightspace
• will be able to switch on plagiarism detection for assignments
• will know how to view submissions
• will know how to access grading and feedback-giving functionalities
• will know how to check the plagiarism reports for submissions

Who Should Attend

This workshop is aimed at faculty and teaching staff who will be using Brightspace to deliver modules in the upcoming academic year 2019/20. The workshop is offered on both 30 May & 27 August 2019.
