This text contains an editorial emendation of a MS reading. For the mark-up of this emendation, see sub heading Correction below. In the HTML format, the emendation is encoded as an hyperlink. Clicking the link will display the emendation in a pop-up window.
Encoding principles:
Correction
In his printed edition, Meyer has in one place suggested an emendation to the reading of the MS. This is encoded by means of the <sic> tag with two attributes, namely the “corr” attribute, indicating the emendation, and the “resp” attribute, indicating editorial responsibility. TLH has not made any alterations to Meyer’s text.
Normalisation
This text has not been normalised.
Quotation
No quotations occur.
Hyphenation
End-of-line hyphenation of the printed edition has not been retained.
Tags declaration:
- The <expan> tag is used to encode text printed in italics to indicate editorial expansions of manuscript abbreviations.
- The <supplied> tag is used to encode additions to the text made by the print editor or the editor of the electronic text. The “resp” attribute indicates the source of the supplied text: “p” indicates print editor and “e” electronic editor.
