Get Ready for a Lifetime of Volunteering
Presented by StudentVolunteer.ie as part of National Volunteer Week 2020
We have all heard the saying that ‘once a volunteer - always a volunteer', but how do we really nurture and sow seeds for the next generation of volunteers? Throughout the lifecycle individuals dip in and out of volunteering at various stages of life. Now more than ever solidarity and community efforts have been shown as key for us all to thrive. Yet learning to be a volunteer takes significant investment - is this the role of the non-profit sector and education to ensure volunteering remains a key part of the lives of all in a democracy? Come along for a half an hour lunch break with us on this fascinating topic! The StudentVolunteer.ie team held a showcase with student volunteers, members of the community and voluntary sector, along with staff in higher education for a discussion and tips on lifelong volunteering.
