Alice Clancy
Alice is an Assistant Professor in Architecture at University College Dublin. Alice worked as an architect internationally before expanding her practice into architectural photography and curation. Her work focuses on the careful and considered communication of architectural design, practice and ideas, in order to facilitate engagement by a wide audience with the built environment and the processes involved in designing it. Her work has been published nationally and internationally. She was selected to work on the curatorial team of the Biennale Architettura 2018 by the curators, Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara of Grafton Architects. Since 2019 she has been working as project assistant on the proposed Centre for Creativity building at UCD.
Alice is passionate about teaching and has been working at UCD Architecture in a part-time capacity since 2008. She has taught, lectured and reviewed at QUB, UL, CIT, NCAD and TUD. At UCD, she coordinates Stage 2 design studio, lectures in photography and contributes to other architectural studio and seminar modules. She has been instrumental in collaborating with studio colleagues in UCD, TUD and QUB to develop architectural studio pedagogy and has won a College Level teaching award.
Dr John Healy
John was born in Co. Dublin, Ireland in 1983. He was awarded the B.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronic Engineering from University College Dublin in 2005 and 2010. He has worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Physics in UNAM, Mexico, and in Computer Science and Electronic Engineering in Maynooth University. In 2012, he was awarded the NUI Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Sciences. He has been a Lecturer in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering in UCD since 2015. He is a member of the IEEE, the OSA and the SPIE.
Dr Jennifer Keenhan
Jennifer is Head of Teaching and Learning in the School of Civil Engineering at UCD. She completed the UCD Professional Diploma in University Teaching and Learning in 2021. She is participating on the UCD College of Engineering and Architecture Inclusive Teaching Pilot Study and received her Digital Badge in Universal Design for Learning from the National Forum as part of their national rollout in Autumn 2020. Jennifer is module coordinator on three undergraduate modules for mixed groups of Engineers and Architects in first, second and third year, and she has interests in a wide variety of areas including interdisciplinarity, student-centred learning, and integrating the sustainable development goals into curricula.
Dr Sharon O'Rourke
Sharon is a soil scientist and Assistant Professor/Ad Astra Fellow in the UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering, where she is a leader in the Sustainability Thematic within the School. Her teaching in the fields of soil science and climate change mitigation is delivered to postgraduates across a number of online programmes. Sharon has an interest in enhancing student engagement and community in the online learning environment and in UCD micro-credentials.
Assoc Prof Vikram Pakrashi
Vikram is a Chartered Engineer and works in the field of dynamics. He is the Founder and Director of UCD Centre for Mechanics and of multi-award winning Dynamical Systems and Risk Laboratory in UCD School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering. He works close to industrial challenges, assimilating physics, sensors, computing and analytics to interpret the condition of our built infrastructure systems and make decisions about them. He strives to create a happy, inquisitive and fearless team with a diverse range of skills. Vikram is a champion of inter and multi-disciplinary research, and sits in School of MME's Equaility, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
