UCD Festival - Saturday 8 June
Join staff and students from the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine at this year’s UCD Festival on Saturday 8 June! Having hosted a number of very successful and well attended events in 2023, the School will be taking part in the Festival again this year with two interactive events:
Vet for A Day!
In the Veterinary Clinical Skills Centre, you’ll meet our amazing animal models and we’ll demonstrate techniques such as IV catheter placement, suturing & blood collection. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in surgery preparation, milk Nóra the Cow & deliver new puppies into the world!
This event will take place at the following times:
- 12pm - 12.30pm
- 12.30pm - 1pm
- 1pm - 1.30pm
- 3pm - 3.30pm
- 3.30pm - 4pm
- 4pm - 4.30pm
A maximum of 25 attendees can take part in each session and places will be available on a strictly first come, first served basis.
Skulls, Specimens & Slides - Exploring Veterinary Science
Explore Veterinary Science through a range of interactive activities. Learn how to use a microscope and identify specimens from our Veterinary Diagnostic Labs. Find out about x-rays and what they can tell us about our pet’s health and identify skulls & specimens used in anatomy and pathology teaching.

VetEd 2024
The UCD School of Veterinary Medicine will host the International Symposium of the Veterinary Schools Council - VetEd Symposium in July 2024. The aim of the VetEd Symposium is to provide an open and friendly atmosphere in which to share ideas, innovations, research and best practice in veterinary education. The symposium welcomes a wide range of delegates including veterinary educationalists, clinicians, academics, veterinary students, practitioners and researchers from many countries.

European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) General Assembly 2025
The School of Veterinary Medicine will also host the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) General Assembly on 12 & 13 June 2025. Preparations for the event have already started and further updates will be available in our Newsletters and on our website in due course.
