The School's EDI and Athena SWAN Committee has compiled information on parental supports and HR information that may be relevant to parents. Please see below for details.
A dedicated site for supports for parents has been developed under the UCD Equality & Diversity website: https://www.ucd.ie/equality/support/supportsforparents/
This includes topics such as:
- Family related policies
- Parent Buddy programme
- UCD Parents Put Pen to Paper
- Parenting webinars
- Support for Employees taking Family-Related Leave Policy, including a return to work policy
- Grant for all employees returning from Maternity/Adoptive Leave
The main UCD HR website is regularly updated with information on University policies and procedures: https://www.ucd.ie/hr/
This is an important hub for policies and documents, relating to areas such as maternity, parental, carers leave and force majeure: https://www.ucd.ie/hr/leave/
HR Hot Topics page highlights new developments and policy changes: https://www.ucd.ie/hr/hottopics/
There is also HR information relevant to parents on a number of other UCD websites:
The UCD Culture & Engagement website highlights specific events for parents, including the Mumager Ramp Up aimed at women who are about to return, or have returned to work in the last 9 months. This website also highlights social initiatives which allow parents at home to engage with UCD through non - work related activities.
UCD also offer an Employee Assistance Service which is an important support for all staff and their families offering free, short-term counselling for anyone experiencing difficulties. More information can be found on the UCD EAS webpage: https://www.ucd.ie/engage/employeerelations/employeeassistanceservice/
