International Applications are still being accepted for our MVB programme for entry September 2016

Are you disappointed with this year’s application cycle to Veterinary Medicine or do you know someone who is? Applicants who have not applied via VMCAS can apply directly via the UCD online applications system.

You can do so by going to http://www.ucd.ie/apply and submitting an application directly to UCD.

Entry Requirements to the 4 Year Graduate Entry Programme (VTS3)
Application to our 4 year Graduate Entry programme requires applicants to have completed an honours degree in a biomedical, biological, animal science discipline. We look for a GPA of 3.2 or above. Applicants also need to have successfully completed the following pre-requisites.

  • Physics with lab
  • Biochemistry with lab
  • General biology
  • General inorganic chemistry
  • Microbiology
  • Cellular biology


Applicants are expected to have gained relevant work experience of handling animals.
Applicants are also required to submit two references (one from an academic source, and one from a veterinary surgeon).

Entry Requirements to the 5 Year Graduate Entry Programme (VTS1)
Those candidates with a non-science degree or lacking some prerequisites will be considered entry to the 5-year MVB programme.
We also consider applications for the 5 year programme from students who have not yet completed their degree.
