The Anatomical Society Departmental Seminar Grant 2018/19
Sourav Bhattacharjee, David Kilroy, Alison Reynolds, Margot Labberté, Catherine McCarney, Arun Kumar and Colm Reid from the School’s Veterinary Biosciences Section recently won the Departmental Seminar Grant 2018/2019 from the Anatomical Society (AS) of the UK and Ireland. This is the first time the AS have awarded this grant to a veterinary school.
The seminar in the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine was held on 7 December 2018, with Prof. D. Ceri Davies, Head of the Human Anatomy Unit at Imperial College London and ex-President of the Anatomical Society as the keynote speaker. Talks were also given by Dr. Denis Barry from Trinity College Dublin and Dr. Jane Holland from RCSI.
Representatives from most of the Irish Medical Schools (UCD, TCD, RCSI, UL & UCC) were in attendance and Professor Michael Doherty, Dean & Head of the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine was on hand to welcome delegates. It was a great opportunity for those working in the area to meet up and network. After the Seminar, there was a social event in the UCD Common Room. Many thanks to everyone who joined us on the day!
