Dr. Arun Kumar Contributes to New Publication

Dr Arun Kumar has contributed a chapter to the new book (opens in a new window)Drug Discovery and Development: From Targets and Molecules to Medicines was recently Published by, Springer Nature 

The book is edited by Professor. Dr. Ramarao Poduri, who has over 40 years of academic teaching and research experience in Pharmacology and Toxicology. The book consists of 18 chapters contributed by eminent scientists, academicians, and consultants from worldwide. These chapters describe in detail the fundamental principles and processes involved in discovery, development and approval of drugs for clinical use. Considering the breadth and depth of the topics included in this book, it will prove to be a valuable resource for researchers and professionals interested in the drug discovery carrier track.

Dr. Arun Kumar, DVM, PhD, from the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine contributed Chapter 10 of this book on Discovery and Development of Stem Cells for Therapeutic Applications, which describes the fundamentals of stem cell biology, the techniques used for the study of stem cells, the necessary steps for developing of stem cells for therapeutic use, the preclinical efficacy and safety evaluation of stem cells, the current applications of stem cells for therapy and finally the potential future applications of stem cells in regenerative medicine.
