APVMA Symposium - March 2022
Representing the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine at the annual American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association (APVMA) Symposium at Kansas State University on March 11 and 12 were Trish Scaife and Ulyana O'Neill from our School Office Team. Trish and Uly met some wonderful pre-vet students at the symposium and they also had the opportunity to meet Dr Temple Grandin, Professor of Animal Welfare and Behaviour from Colorado State University who was a guest speaker at the event.
The American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association is a national organisation of pre-veterinary students. Their goal is to promote and stimulate interest in the field of veterinary medicine, provide open communication between pre-veterinary clubs and organisations nationally, provide resources to students on pursuing the field of veterinary medicine, and hold the annual national APVMA symposium. The APVMA Symposium is a two-day event that brings together prospective pre-veterinary students from all over the USA. This event is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the field of veterinary medicine and it also provides students with an opportunity to speak with representatives from a wide range of veterinary schools.
