Small Animal Vets Needed for Survey on Perioperative Analgesic Drugs & Techniques
Our Anaesthesia Team are looking for Small Animal Vets to take part in a survey on the use of perioperative analgesic drugs and techniques amongst small animal practitioners in the Republic of Ireland. The aim of the study is to collect information that will provide insights into the current practice in pain assessment and management in small animals in Ireland.
The data obtained will form the basis for future surveys and will guide the provision of postgraduate training in the future. We hope that companion animal welfare can also be enhanced by an increased awareness of and provision of analgesia.
The survey can be accessed by (opens in a new window)clicking here or by scanning the QR code below.
When completing this survey, please note the following:
- The questionnaire takes about 10-15 minutes to complete
- The online survey has been designed by the anaesthetists at UCD Veterinary Hospital and is hosted via Google workspace, a software platform used by UCD
- Participation in the survey is voluntary and all responses are anonymous
- All information collected from the survey will remain completely confidential: answers cannot be linked back to any individual participant
- Please read the 'Participant Information' before you access and answer the questions
- You have the option to withdraw from the survey at any point up and until you submit your responses
Once the questionnaire has closed, the data will be collated and analysed with the intention to publish the results in the Irish Veterinary Journal which is accessible to everyone with internet access.
