Pet Bereavement Seminar Held in Vet School

Kevin Smith from Clearview Counselling with Sandra Nicholson, Lecturer in Veterinary NursingA seminar on Pet Bereavement for staff and students was held in the School last month.  Sandra Nicholson, Lecturer in Veterinary Nursing, organised the seminar and was delighted to welcome Kevin Smith, psychotherapist at (opens in a new window)Clearview Counselling to the Vet School.

Kevin facilitates Ireland's only Pet Bereavement Support Group (which runs online), and also delivers Pet Bereavement education on behalf of the Irish Hospice Foundation. Kevin presented a highly informative and interactive workshop on this important topic, with the attendees openly sharing their experiences and asking many questions.

At the end of the workshop, it felt as if there was much more to discuss. The workshop was truly the beginning of a conversation on Pet Bereavement that should be continued into the future. We are very grateful to Kevin for such an excellent and thought provoking evening.
