The UCD School of Veterinary Medicine is hosting the 38th General Assembly of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) in June 2025.

Please note: we have opened registration early to allow those attending the event to register and book suitable accommodation options as far in advance as possible.  The daily schedules detailed below are provisional and may undergo slight changes before the event takes place but the dates for the 38th General Assembly are confirmed and are as follows:

Please note: places on the Social Day are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.  Only one accompanying person per delegate attending the general meeting can attend the Social Day.

Accompanying guests can also attend the gala dinner, by reservation, and the social day, also by reservation.

Reservations for a guest accompanying a delegate must be made the same time as those for the delegate.

The cost of attendance at the Gala Dinner is €150 and Social Day attendance costs €90.

General Assembly, Educational Day & Gala Dinner (12 & 13 June 2025)
  • Early bird registration: €450
  • Early Bird Delegate Registration will be bookable until Friday 28 February 2025
  • Regular registration: €490
  • Regular registration will be bookable from Saturday 1 March to Wednesday 14 May 2025

Early Bird and Regular Registration Fees include the following:

  • Attendance at the General Assembly & Cocktail Reception on 12 June 2025
  • Attendance at the Educational Day, Visitation of the VEE & Gala Dinner on 13 June 2025
  • Conference bags, badges and other conference materials
  • Two coffee breaks and lunch during the General Assembly and the Educational Day

Social Day to Glendalough & Kilkenny, 14 June 2025: €90 per attendee

Places are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

Cancellation / Refund Policy

General Assembly, Educational Day and Gala Dinner

  • If cancellations are received before 11 April 2025, 100% of the fees will be refunded after the event
  • If cancellations are received between 11 April and 9 May 2025, 50% of the fees will be refunded after the event
  • If cancellations are received between 10 May and 23 May 2025, 25% of the fees will be refunded after the event
  • There will be no refund for cancellations after 23 May


Social Day
Registrations for the Social Day will not be refundable after 11 April 2025.

UCD O'Reilly Hall

The General Assembly, Educational Day and Gala Dinner will all take place in UCD O'Reilly Hall.  O'Reilly Hall, UCD's purpose built conference and events venue, is located just beside the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.  O'Reilly Hall is one of the most impressive conference and events venues in Ireland with an imposing facade overlooking the UCD Lake.  Here you will find the best in modern conference facilities and state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment.

The adjoining Conservatory, with floor-to-ceiling glass, offers stunning views of the lawn and UCD Lake and coffee breaks and lunches will take place in this bright and airy space.

Transport from Dublin Airport

Dublin is served by Dublin International Airport, which is located north of Dublin City Centre. There are frequent connecting buses from the airport to the city centre, including the following:

  • (opens in a new window)Airlink, a shuttle service that brings passengers directly to Busáras (Central Bus Station, Dublin)
  • (opens in a new window)Aircoach operates a bus service direct from Dublin Airport to Dublin city centre and to UCD (route 700 to Leopardstown/Sandyford, ask to get off at UCD Slip Road stop). Between 3.30am and 12.30 am, the bus runs every 15 minutes and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes to Dublin city centre and 45 minutes to UCD. Tickets can be bought directly from the driver or can be bought in advance online

A (opens in a new window)taxi from Dublin Airport to UCD will cost approximately 35 EUR and the journey takes around 30 minutes.

Transport to UCD

UCD is well served by public transport. Bus stops are located at the rear of the Sports Centre and the main terminus next to the Sutherland Building. Stops are also located just outside campus gates at Roebuck Road, Clonskeagh Road, Fosters Avenue and the N11 (main entrance). Bus: The UCD Belfield campus is served by a number of bus routes:

  • From the city centre, services 39A (to UCD), 46A (direction Dun Laoghaire) and 145 (direction Ballywaltrim) stop on Nassau Street (at Trinity College, opposite Easons)
  • Please note that the 39A service enters UCD campus and the 46A and 145 services stop outside at the UCD flyover
  • The fare from the city centre is currently EUR2.60.  Please note that payment in coins only is accepted on Dublin Bus services.  See (opens in a new window)www.dublinbus.ie for further information

Cheaper fares are available if you use a Leap Card (available for purchase and top up at the airport and newsagents throughout the city), which is valid on Dublin Bus, local rail and tram services. See (opens in a new window)www.leapcard.ie for further information.

Taxi: A taxi from Dublin city centre to UCD will cost approximately 10 EUR. The FreeNow (opens in a new window)https://free-now.com/ie/ app allows you to book a taxi in advance, easily hail a taxi, and pay via the app. (Uber doesn’t operate in Ireland.)

A number of accommodation options are available on or close to UCD's Belfield Campus - please see below for more information.  Please note that all accommodation must be booked directly with the accommodation provider and that rooms are available on a first come, first served basis.  We recommend that you book your accommodation as soon as possible as hotels in Dublin book up quickly for the Summer months.  Delegates will also find plenty of other accommodation options on hotel and self-catering booking platforms.

UCD Campus Accommodation

Single rooms are available in on-campus accommodation at UCD.  The rooms are compact and functional and located on the university campus where the conference will take place. They are perfect for those looking for bedrooms at affordable prices. All rooms are single bed, with en-suite bathroom with shower.

There are 5/6 rooms to an apartment, these rooms share a communal living space with a small kitchen area with a fridge and microwave, suitable for preparing light refreshments. Please be advised there is no cutlery or crockery provided in these apartments, so they are not suitable as a self-catering option.

The bedrooms are comfortably furnished including a workstation and generous storage. The rooms are fully equipped and are supplied with standard pillow, single duvet, linens, and towels. Apartments are located within easy access to all campus restaurants, coffee shops, bookshop and convenience store.
