Based on the lower ground floor of the Faculty
of Veterinary Medicine building, the department has teaching responsibilities for third and fourth year veterinary undergraduate students. Two lecture theatres and a practical classroom are provided to cater for about 80 students per course per year. The Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (MVB) programme is a five year course. Research is now a major objective of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and particularly so within the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology.
