I am a methodologist and work for communities experiencing the environmental racism of neoliberal urbanism.
My scholarly interests include
♦ How the political economy shapes the built environment and the slow violence of racist planning and policy
♦ Participatory Action Research as a counter to neoliberalism and academic capitalism
♦ Novel quantitative methods for addressing urban housing, transportation, and health issues
Penpatra has comprehensive knowledge in the area of occupational health and safety. Her areas of experience include indoor air pollution and health impacts, work physiology, industrial hygiene, public health and epidemiology in occupational health. Her research interests are focused on the health effects relating to risk factors in occupations in identifying susceptible worker groups, risk factors, planning and implementing appropriate prevention and protection measures to mitigate the expected adverse health effects from work.
Lucas Nascimento is a PhD student in the Social Sciences program at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), specializing in Urban Studies. Lucas is a qualitative researcher focused on ethnographies related to the production and transformation of urban centers and the uberization of work.
