Design Library - Home Slider
The Home Slider Component uses the Content Type 'Design Library -HomeSlider' and can be used to display as two different layouts. Multiple Sliders can be used on one page.
Home Slider with Video
For a video the format is mp4, standard ratio of 1920 x 1080 will work (you will lose a bit of the bottom of the screen on the video). Video works best when it's compressed as much as possible to a small file size (under 5MB is ideal), no audio and 10 to 15 seconds usually works best for a banner video. The video should be saved to the Media Library using the Category 'Image'.
Home Slider with Image
The dimensions for a Home Slider image are 1920px x 800px. The image should be saved to the Media Library using the Category 'Image'.
The mobile image is optional and should have dimensions of 767px x 550px.
The cropping of the image will vary depending on the user's screen size.
Slider Buttons
Home Slider buttons can be added to both the Home Slider and the Banner using the Content Type 'Design Library -HomeSlider-Button'. The buttons can be added globally by adding the 'Design Library - HomeSlider-Button' Content Type to the section 'sitesettings' or individually by adding to any page with a Slider or Banner. Buttons added individually to a section will overwrite the Globally applied Button on that page. There are a limit of three buttons that can be added to the Slider or Banner.
The 'ucdmcw-2019-HomeSlider-Button' Content Type has fields for 'Name', 'Link Text', an Internal or External Link and an option to 'Highlight'. Highlighted Buttons appear with a Yellow background colour.
Replacing the old Slider
If you've migrated from the old Standard Look Template you may need to to update your Homepage to accommodate the new look Home Slider. There is a step by step guide for this on the IT Support Hub:
