The latest updates to the Design Library have been released. It includes improvements to how news is managed, enhancements to the document repository, jump menu, better search functionality and more. News
The enhancement to the News feature included in the Design Library Winter release has been frequently requested. Previously when creating a news item it was necessary to manually add a “News Headline” to a listing page that would link to the item.
It is now possible to automatically pull in news items to a listing page so that once you create a news item it will appear on a news listing page without any further manual action.

Microsite Search
We received a number of requests to allow search results to be filtered to the current microsite. The site search is found in the explore menu and uses Google Programmable Search to return results. Previously, using this search would only show results from across ucd.ie regardless of what site the search was initiated from.
Now when you search from the Explore menu the results page shows 3 tabs. The first tab shows results filtered to the site you searched from. For example, if you search from www.ucd.ie/itservices you will only see results from the IT Services site.
The second tab will show results from across ucd.ie.
The third tab searched researcher profiles on people.ucd.ie.
Jump Menu Enhancements
The jump menu component is a widely used component that allows users to jump to a section further down the page. The Winter release of the Design Library introduces significant enhancements that provide the option to make the jump menu stick on scroll so that a user can easily navigate to different sections on the page. The section that is currently visible on screen is also highlighted in the menu.

Document Repository Enhancements
The document repository component was first added to the Design Library at the end of 2023. This release brings further enhancements with the introduction of up to three additional filters that can be defined by the content editor.
New document item elements such as images and custom button text are available and you can choose whether to allow users to click through to a full text output to provide more information on a listing. You can of course still link directly to a media item or section.
