Science for Schools Video Competition: 2015 Winners!

First Prize: ‘The Evolution of Us’ by Tallaght Community School

Our congratulations to the team from Tallaght Community School: Adam Nolan, Kate O’Neill, Lauren Traynor and Tadhg Slye and their teachers Ms Kate O’Gorman (science) and Ms Sarah Long (art) for their first prize winning entry ‘The Evolution of Us’. Winners took home a bat detector for their school (perfect for ecology projects) and a special prize sponsored by Thornshaw Scientific Recruitment company.

 


Second Prize: ‘The Ecology of Glengarriff Nature Reserve’ by Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai

The second prize (bat detector) went to Neil O'Sullivan, Robyn McCarthy and Cian McGrath and their science teacher Ms. Catherine Levis from Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai (Bantry). See their great video ‘The Ecology of Glengarriff Nature Reserve’.

 


Third Prize: ‘Bat facts’ by Loreto Balbriggan

Third prize was awarded to Kim Dalton and Aoife Kenny and their science teacher Ms Olivia Derwin from Loreto Balbriggan for their fun video ‘Bat facts’.

Once again a big thank you to all participating students and teachers. Many thanks also to SFI Discover, UCD Earth Institute, ERC and Thornshaw Scientific Recruitment for making this competition possible.
